Who needs to file a FAFSA?
Any student or prospective student that wants to be considered for most of the available student aid must complete and file a FAFSA. Federal aid, state aid, and college-provided aid all usually start with a FAFSA. The FAFSA is used to determine how much and what type of aid the student is eligible for, including scholarships, grants, low-interest loans and work study programs.
